# Facet

> Facet is a commerce system adapter for agentic e-commerce, the face a business
> turns toward machines. It composes four open standards (Facet KYA identity, MCP
> discovery, x402 payments, and RFC 9421 signed audit) into one commerce rail so
> an AI agent can discover a business, prove who it is, transact, and produce a
> verifiable receipt, without a bespoke integration per site. A business mounts
> Facet once in front of its existing catalog to become an agent-ready business
> that accepts agent payments: no re-platforming, no theme changes.

Facet is not a marketplace and does not take custody of funds. Settlement is
non-custodial: USDC via x402 on Base, or Visa/Mastercard via Stripe, direct
to the merchant's own wallet or bank account. Boson Protocol provides the
escrow layer for physical-goods orders (funds release on fulfillment).
