Six non-custodial AI agent purchases settled on Base Sepolia ahead of the x402B mainnet launch. The merchant wallet received funds directly via on-chain settlement in every case.
Facet (facet.llc), an open agent-commerce protocol, and Boson Protocol today announced the first working integration of Boson's x402B escrow standard in a live multi-rail merchant terminal. Six complete agent purchases ran end-to-end on Base Sepolia, with the merchant receiving on-chain settlement to their own treasury wallet in every case. Facet never held or intermediated the funds. The integration is available to any of the millions of Shopify stores that can connect to a Facet terminal.
Facet provides identity, storefront, and fulfilment. An AI agent arrives at a merchant storefront powered by the Facet Terminal and verifies its identity via a Facet KYA token, issued by Facet's own KYA issuer or an accepted third-party issuer under the same open identity spec. The Terminal verifies the credential cryptographically, checking signature, audience binding, and a single-use nonce. Anonymous agent traffic cannot proceed. Once verified, the agent browses the live catalog, provides a shipping address (vaulted as an encrypted reference) and Facet prices the full landed cost that gets escrowed.
Boson provides the escrow trust primitive. The agent commits funds via ERC-3009. The funds move into the Boson Diamond escrow contract on Base. The voucher is redeemed on-chain, the exchange finalises, and settlement releases directly to the merchant's treasury wallet, net of the Boson protocol fee. Neither party needs to trust the other on faith: the buyer receives the item or receives their funds back.
The deal is verifiable end to end. All six settlements are documented with block references and transaction hashes for each settlement leg at github.com/facet-llc/spec. The x402B adapter for the Facet Terminal and the KYA verifier are open source under Apache 2.0.
